If you decide to transfer a domain from one domain registrar to another, you will need to pass through a few safety steps. One of them is getting a unique EPP code from the current registrar company – provided that you are the registrant, since the code is emailed to the domain owner’s email account and no one else can see it. You have to give this code to the new registrar company, otherwise they will not be able to initiate the domain name transfer process. The EPP authorization codes are case-sensitive and may comprise of digits or special characters such as commas or dots, which can be easily mistyped, so make sure you copy/paste the right code. As an extra protection measure, the transfer code for a domain may be changed regularly. Some domain name registrars call this code an Auth key, a domain secret or a domain password as well.

EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting

If you’ve got a hosting, you have registered a domain name through us and you would like to transfer it, you can obtain its EPP transfer code with less than several clicks of the mouse. When you sign into your Hepsia hosting Control Panel and go to the Registered Domains section, you will see all the domains that you’ve registered through our company displayed in alphabetical order. To the right of each domain, you will see a mini EPP icon for all TLD extensions that need an EPP code in order to be transferred between companies. Clicking on the icon will email the EPP code to the registrant’s email address instantly. In the exact same section you can also see and ultimately change the email address, if the one there is no longer valid.

EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers

If you register a domain under a semi-dedicated server account with our company, you’ll be able to get its EPP transfer code with only one single mouse click, in case you decide to move it to another domain registrar. All it takes to do that is to sign into your Hepsia hosting Control Panel, to visit the Registered Domains section and to click the EPP button, which will be to the right of the domain. Of course, such a button will be available only if the respective generic or country-code Top-Level Domain extension supports transfers with an EPP code. Within 60 seconds, an email that includes the code will be sent to the domain registrant’s email account associated with that domain name. You can update the latter through the same section of the Control Panel – in case the one that’s currently listed in the WHOIS details is not a valid one. As the change will take effect without delay, you can request the EPP transfer code directly after that.
