A catch-all mailbox is one that collects all the emails sent to inactive addresses. For example, if your address is info@domain.com, but someone misspells it and sends an email to inof@domain.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Just one mailbox per domain can have this feature enabled and thus you’ll never miss messages because the other side has an obsolete email address or has made a spelling mistake. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving lots of junk emails, but this problem can be fixed by using an anti-spam protection solution. It’s also important to remember that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect incoming messages to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

In case you’ve got a hosting with us and you wish to activate the catch-all functionality for a given email mailbox that you have in the web hosting account, it’ll take literally just a click of the mouse in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each and every email address that you have created under any domain name hosted in the account. You can choose one single email address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature right away, so all email messages sent to mistyped email addresses will be delivered there. Clicking the button for a second time will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got enabled email forwarding, our system will exhibit a warning notice and you won’t be able to enable the catch-all feature till you delete the forwarding or you can simply pick a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all option can be enabled easily if you have a semi-dedicated server account with us. All the email addresses that you’ve created with the domains hosted in the semi-dedicated account will be listed in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia Control Panel and you will find a small-size symbol conveniently situated right next to each of them. With only one click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your preference provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain with this option already activated and there isn't enabled email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on an email address and activate the feature using the menu that will show up. If any of the prerequisites for setting up a catch-all mailbox is not answered, our system will let you know, but will not disable or replace anything automatically.
